For more than a decade Jen has worked with activists, leaders, newly formed organizations and international institutions all with a personalized approach to make change.
I work in empathy and a-has. I believe that the powerful combination of story and strategy can lead to changes in policy, practices and beliefs that can make a difference in people's every day lives.
She built a career in listening to the goals of her clients, understanding their constituents and finding ways to build curiosity, engagement and support for their work - to get wins that lead to agency, community control, and freedom.
Jen is a strategist, asking why, digging deeper and helping people think of the bigger vision they have - using strategy and creative curriculum to teach participants to connect the dots between that vision and now. She facilitates discussions and leads workshops to build the capacity and confidence of her clients to take the breakthroughs home with them and to their organizations.
ISSUES & EXPERIENCE
Homes that are safe and affordable, jobs, justice for race, gender, orientation and status
Issue-wise, I am interested in systems and local level work: a legal and criminal system that is free of racism, economic policy and programs that prioritize people over profit, affordable homes, community control and agency of what happens in their own neighborhoods, reentry for people coming home from prison. I am developing a focus on philanthropy, moving toward a power-balanced and supportive approach - reimagining the current funder-driven model.
